WRITE THAT DOWN!

We live in a really cool world with colors to marvel all our senses. At times if not for pro evolution soccer and some cool movies I wouldn’t have known there are a lot of eye colors in existence and I would forever be intrigued on how sexy Vanessa Williams eyes are. Now the purpose of this post is not to open our minds of how beautiful the world is, it is about opening our minds to the greatest and still the oldest way of getting information with no hitch at all. Long before the invention of languages, people tell stories by drawing, basically I would like to be a cave man and see how crappy my drawing will be back then, but at some point with some practice, if there was a drawing
competition in 10,000 bc I think I would go home with the winning price which of course would obviously be a fat male Ox, of which I could be forced to eat it up in a day because there was no preservatives or refrigerator. Humanity has grown to the extent that the papyl has been turned to paper at precisely no cost, and we love technology for this. As cool as all these may sound, and as classy and cheesy my words may get I really need to emphasize the importance of writing things down. I have attended some business programs and seminars and at some point when I looked at the past notes I put down, I kept on asking myself why I didn’t make my reports and interpretations more detailed because a time came when I needed to review my notes and man did I try my best to remember the quote said by my idol at that period.

Shout out to Fela Durotoye!

Now having a Note pad whether on your phone or on your palm can:-
·         help you plan better
·         Help you figure out your priorities
·         Help you recall
·         Help you analyze
·         Help you plan
·         Help you put down the words when the eureka moment happens.
How to take notes effectively,
I am no expert and I do not intend on getting ideas from Google at this point, but from experience I would tell you the effective way of note taking is your ability to:
·         Listen and spot key words. Key words are words often stressed by the speaker.
·         Observe the nouns and verbs in the speaker’s speech.
·         And if the speech is so boring and you start feeling sleepy try to swap what the speaker is saying into a synonym of your choice. It can be quite fun if you try it. You can make the synonym as simple as possible, you will find out that you will write less words with more meaning. For example: The inferno seemed radical and it felt like it was about to engulf a whole building. Interpretation: There was a huge fire that wanted to destroy the building.

Always remember that the pen can be your best friend and your writing pad can be your bedside mate because ideas can come up at any moment, even at 2am in the morning and if you do not write it down, you can forget it in the morning.
